India beats Pakistan in 6 wicket victory

The Hong Kong cricket fever is catching on with audiences in India as things are gearing up for more wins ahead. In one of the best wins in the series Team India defeated Pakistan with 6 wickets in hand. Leading the victory dance was Virendra Sehwag who had punished the bowling of the Pakistani side. His aggressive hundred led the Indian team to a lovely 6 wicket win over Pakistan. This match was also the final one for the group B in Asia Cup.

Sehwag had smashed 119 runs in just 95 balls while Suresh Rain hit 84 from just 68 balls. Together they led team India to a great win with a 198 run partnership at the second wicket stand. The game ended in glory for India with the scoreboard showing 229 runs, the winning score, for just 4 wickets and about 7.5 over still left.

Pakistan had won the toss and had elected to bat first. As the match started, Shoaib Mallick had went for a big century. This was also his first century after becoming the captain. Younis Khan also added to the score by getting his 34th one day fifty. The century helped Pakistan set a difficult target for India and proved to be a challenging one at that point of the game. But the Indian players made the whopping target of 229 seem like a piece of cake walk for them. Thanks to the great batting and partnership of the second wicket by Sehwag and Raina, team India smoothly glided to a great win. The duo tore apart the Pakistani bowling and bashed away the ball. The Pakistani side suffered a loss after the frontline fast bowler Umar Gul had to leave the game with a strain on his side. Things seemed to be going just the right way for the Indians and partnership of the second wicket made 229 a very small score to achieve on the board.

The man of the match was Suresh Raina and it couldn’t have been a better day for him or the team for a victory. The security for the match was very tight and it seemed that more security personnel were present than the public. The math had been expected to bring about some action to the Asia Cup and team India did full justice to the expectations of the audiences.
